Smile, Save, Succeed: Optimizing Your Practice’s Future with 401(k) Plans & Cash Balance Strategies

A Presentation by Jim Moore & Kelly Richards at the 20th Anniversary Sunrise Dental Solutions Summit – Sept. 18-20, 2025

Many dental practice owners are hitting the limits of what a traditional 401(k) can offer. A Cash Balance Plan is a powerful strategy that allows you to contribute well beyond those limits—often more than $100,000 per year—while significantly reducing your tax burden. But the benefits go beyond your own savings. These plans can also help attract and retain top employees by enhancing your practice’s retirement benefit offering, giving you an edge in a competitive talent market.  If you’re ready to keep more of what you earn—and invest in both your future and your team—this presentation will show you how.

Learning Objectives

  1. How Cash Balance Plans work alongside your 401(k)
  2. Contribution and tax savings potential for practice owners
  3. Why these plans are ideal for owners 45+ looking to catch up on retirement
  4. How to use advanced retirement plans to strengthen employee retention
  5. Real-world examples from dental practices already seeing results
