Protecting Your Practice from Modern AI Threats | Arash Shokouh, Ophtek
AI is becoming an integrated part of the medical industry. Practices interact with it every single day — and with that convenience comes exposure. There’s enough sensitive information flowing through these tools to cause major headaches, and in some cases bring a business to a halt.
Ophtek founder Arash Shokouh brings over 20 years of experience spanning IT, engineering, and cybersecurity to show you exactly how to get ahead of these modern threats. This session translates a fast-moving risk landscape into practical, dependable steps — including how to implement HIPAA guidelines across your practice to keep patient data protected.
Stay ahead of a fast-moving threat
The tools change constantly, but the fundamentals of protecting your practice don’t. When you know what the early warning signs look like — and have HIPAA-aligned policies in place — you can adopt new technology with confidence instead of anxiety.
Attendees will leave with a clear, actionable understanding of how to defend their practice:
- Recognize the threats — spot early warning signs, AI-driven scams, and modern viruses before they take hold.
- Protect sensitive information — understand how data theft happens, the black-market risks behind it, and the key steps to prevent it.
- Strengthen your IT policies — implement HIPAA-compliant strategies that harden your cybersecurity defenses.
- Adopt AI safely — put guardrails around the tools your team already uses every day.
The result is a practice that can embrace AI’s benefits while keeping PHI and PII secure — with minimal disruption to the work that matters. It starts with awareness, and it always should.
Objectives:
- Recognize data security threats by spotting early warning signs, AI-driven scams, and modern viruses.
- Protect sensitive information by understanding data theft, black-market risks, and key prevention steps.
- Strengthen IT policies by implementing HIPAA-compliant strategies to enhance cybersecurity defenses.
